ELEC 1120 - A.C. Electricity Theory and Lab

3 Credits
This course covers the properties of alternating current. Investigating the different types of AC voltages and how they are produced. The course also covers the different types of calculations for AC circuits including resistive, capacitive, inductive, power, three phase wye, and delta systems

Learning Outcomes
How to analyze, calculate, troubleshoot and evaluate A.C. circuits including series, parallel and combination.

Using electrical meters, oscilloscopes, and test equipment to measure and test electrical circuits and components.

Applying trigonometry to Ohm’s Law to calculate A.C. circuits.

Understanding the A.C. current properties of voltage, current, resistance, induction, capacitance.

Gain knowledge of three phase A.C. systems and how to calculate their different properties.
