ELLW 1172 - Line Construction and Maintenance B

Prerequisites ELLW 1170 

Continuation of Line Construction and Maintenance A, this course covers construction and maintenance techniques used while incorporating insulated aerial bucket trucks, rubber gloves, insulted line cover-up, and live line tools.

Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate proper use of hotsticks during simulated live line construction and maintenance.

Demonstrate proper use of insulated aerial platform while performing simulated live line maintenance.

Utilize truck grounding, barricading, or insulate isolate techniques to protect ground-men and general public during live line maintenance.

Employ Rubber cover-up on simulated live lines to establish a safe working area.

Practice inspection of critical safety equipment used during live line construction and maintenance.

Apply the use of live line rigging tools to repair simulated energized lines and structures.
