HVAC 1130 - Tool Usage, Brazing and Soldering Techniques

This course provides an introduction to the tool commonly used in the HVAC/R industry. Proper use of the individual tools will be discussed and practiced.

Learning Outcomes
Describe and demonstrate proper use and care of a wide variety of tools commonly used in HVAC/R industry.

Compare and select proper bonding materials and tools for various tubing connections.

Demonstrate proper HVAC/R technician behavior and participate in the ride along days, as well as recognizing, defining and practicing safe work habits.

Using the proper tools, create leak free copper tubing connections including flare connections, swage connections, and fitting connections. Analyze the materials used to make these connections.

Utilize the proper tools to perform refrigerant recovery, charging procedures, and system evacuation. Describe the function of each and methods used.
