HVAC 1250 - Commercial Refrigeration
3 Credits Prerequisites HVAC 1120 , HVAC 1140 , HVAC 1150 , HVAC 1170
The students will learn about various types of commercial refrigeration equipment, the necessary controls, and proper operation. Equipment will include reach in coolers and freezers as well as ice machines. Also covered will be proper maintenance procedures as well as troubleshooting and schematic diagrams.
Learning Outcomes Analyze, observe and test miscellaneous self-contained commercial refrigeration equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on miscellaneous commercial refrigeration equipment. Explain the function of components and systems that are unique to large parallel compressor systems. Describe the function of components, controls and values used on commercial refrigeration equipment. Demonstrate proper HVAC/R technician behavior and participate in the ride along days, as well as recognizing, defining and practicing safe work habits Describe, analyze, and perform the pump down process on a refrigeration system.
