HVAC 2220 - Commercial HVAC



3 Credits
This course teaches the fundamental theory, operation, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of HVAC systems and components commonly found in commercial buildings such as schools, retail stores, hospitals, small production facilities etc. Equipment covered includes, but is not limited to, chilled and hot water systems, gas/electric packaged units, economizers, variable air volume, building automation and variable frequency drives.

Learning Outcomes
Students will analyze and understand the complexity of a commercial building in regards to indoor climate control and indoor air quality.

Students will learn how perform preventive maintenance procedures on a variety of commonly used commercial HVAC systems and components.

Students will learn basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills on a variety of commonly used commercial HVAC systems and components.

Students will learn how to navigate a building automation system and make basic changes such as schedule times and space temperatures.
