HCEM 2280 - Climate Control

Prerequisites HCEM 2135
Students will be taught how to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting procedures in order to identify and repair or fully replace faulty components within a climate-controlled cab in a heavy construction equipment. Air conditioning theory will be discussed.
Learning Outcomes
Diagram freon flow through identification of components. Following from liquid to gas low side and gas to liquid high side of system. Show competent freon reclaiming, vacuum test, and nitrogen charge. Relate proper repair cost and time. Charge a reconditioned A/C system. Identify the dangers of the A/C system specifically how to handle Freon.
