IETA 1001 - Intro to Industrial Safety and Health



2 Credits
This course introduces key Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards relevant to workplace safety, including the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard recognize, tool safety, and proper lockout/tagout procedures.  Students will also be introduced to confined spaces, understanding the modern fire and fire safety, and protection from electrical risks.  

Learning Outcomes
Apply OSHA standards in different situations.

Interpret SDS sheets.

Identify appropriate safety procedures in given situations.

Apply proper lockout and tagout steps.

Outline entry procedures for permitted and non-permitted confined space.

Identify the steps needed to properly and safely prepare to work on electrical equipment.
