IDES 2972 - Internship



2 Credits
Prerequisites IDES 1218 , IDES 2147 

Upon the satisfactory completion of and/or current enrollment in all IDES coursework, this on-the-job training will provide the interior design student with the opportunity to participate in an internship position within his/her determined area of interiors to strengthen skills within a real design environment. Established design goals from IDES 2100 will be applied in selecting the location and type of design specialty more appropriate to each student. The course is completed after the internshp assignments, hours worked identified, and a conference with the student’s faculty representative is recorded. Each participant is to complete 80 hours of intern work.

Learning Outcomes
Observe the legal responsibilities of interior designers and manufacturing based on the type of design.

Identify the different areas of interior design including manufacturing, designs firms, and contractors.

Observe meetings, presentations, and the design process.

Identify how firms charge for pricing, and work with trade sources.
