PSYC 1105 - General Psychology

This general psychology course is an introduction and overview of the scientific study of behavior and experience. It includes topics like the history of psychology, research methods, perception, learning, human development, intelligence, motivation, social perception and group behavior, and psychological disorders.
Learning Outcomes
Identify and use terminology relevant to the field of Psychology. Identify and understand a variety of psychological theories related to the understanding of human behavior and make practical applications of such theories. Identify objective sources of information and a variety of perspectives in making determinations or inferences about human behavior. Identify, understand and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of psychological research methods, including research design, sampling, methods, interpretation of results and ethics. Demonstrate an understanding of the history and evolution of the diagnosis and treatment of persons with mental health conditions, including the impact of social and cultural norms.
