PTEC 1230 - Environmental Impact of Operations
2 Credits Prerequisites PTEC 1200 and PTEC 1220
Examines how daily industrial operations impact the environment, emphasizing the operator’s role in emissions control, water quality, and regulatory compliance. Students will explore topics such as transient operations, flare system limitations, fired heater performance, LDAR, sewer system management, and VOC detection. The course also covers how operational decisions affect wastewater and air quality, and how to locate and interpret environmental regulations. Through real-world case studies, students will learn to minimize environmental harm and ensure compliance.
