4 Credits This four-credit lecture course is designed for students preparing for a career in the medical field. Emphasis will be on anatomical terminology and structure and function of the following components of the human body: cells, tissues, integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, senses, cardiovascular, blood, digestive, reproductive, urinary, endocrine, lymphatic, and respiratory systems.
Major Content Areas Normal function of each body system Body processes How the body systems work together Organs in each body system?? Structural organization of the human body Directional terms, quadrants, and body cavities
Learning Outcomes List major organs in each body system (cells, tissues, integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, senses, cardiovascular, blood, digestive, reproductive, urinary, endocrine, lymphatic, and respiratory)?. Utilize directional terms. Recognize body planes, quadrants, and body cavities. Describe the structural organization of the human body. State the normal function of each body system.
