AUTM 2037 - Automotive HVAC Systems
3 Credits This course covers the principles of air conditioning and types, diagnosis, testing, and repair of air conditioning systems. The course includes practical work on air conditioning systems such as evacuating, replacement of components, charging, recycling, and performance testing. Students will also test and diagnose automotive electronic heating and air conditioning control circuits.
Learning Outcomes Student will be able to locate applicable service information in order to test and diagnose automotive heating and air conditioning concerns. Student will be able to identify and explain the proper operation of automotive heating and air conditioning components. Student will demonstrate the ability to operate air conditioning refrigerant handling equipment safely according to industry standards. Student will successfully complete the ASE Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Quiz which is an industry requirement to service automotive air conditioning systems in a repair facility. Student will demonstrate the ability diagnose and repair automotive air conditioning refrigerant systems as well as heating and concerns.
