AUTM 2238 - Automotive Driveline Fundamentals
3 Credits This course covers current automotive clutch, manual transmission / transaxle, transfer cases and differential used on late model vehicles. Students will learn diagnosis, repairs, and operation of each systems.
Learning Outcomes Perform diagnosis and repair operations on automotive clutch systems in accordance with ASE standards. Demonstrate compliance with current automotive industry safety and environmental standards. Demonstrate diagnosis and repair of automotive differentials in accordance with ASE standards. Demonstrate clutch power flow and operation and removal and installation of automotive manual transmission / transaxle in accordance with ASE standards. Perform diagnosis and repair operations on automotive transfer cases. Students will be able to describe power flow of transfer cases in accordance with ASE standards. Access and utilize service information and technical service bulletins to perform step by step service procedures.
