AUTM 2364 - Engine Mechanical and Fuel Systems

This course covers the operation and servicing techniques required to diagnose internal engine mechanical conditions affecting engine performance.

Learning Outcomes
Understand the engine fuel delivery and injection system, analyze symptoms related to engine management components, perform pinpoint tests, analyze results, and determine necessary actions in accordance with ASE standards.

Demonstrate compliance with current automotive industry safety and environmental standards.

Diagnose the cause of engine performance concerns related to fuel delivery and injection system failures in accordance with ASE standards.

Understand internal engine operation, test condition utilizing automotive diagnostic tools in accordance with ASE standards.

Perform compression, cylinder leakage, exhaust backpressure, intake vacuum, cylinder power balance, relative compression, and in-cylinder pressure tests, analyze results, and determine necessary actions in accordance with ASE standards.
