Dental Assistant, A.A.S.

Accreditation

The Dental Assistant program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).

Program Outcomes

Demonstrate proficiency in four handed Chairside procedures.

Demonstrate proficiency in performing Minnesota State Board of Dentistry expanded functions for the Licensed Dental Assistant.

Demonstrate effective communication when educating patients in personal oral hygiene instructions.

Demonstrate the ability to pass the Jurisprudence exam through the Minnesota Board of Dentistry and the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) exam through the Dental Assisting National Board.

Additional Information

This program has additional costs and consists of daytime on-campus classes, with some courses offered asynchronously online and two courses delivered in a hybrid format.

All DENT courses must be taken in the sequence below. Please contact your program advisor with questions.

First Year - Summer Session: 7 Credits


Second Year - Fall Semester: 20 Credits


Total Program Requirements: 60


Dental Assistant A.A.S. students are required to obtain a C or higher on all DENT and general education courses.
