This course covers the operation and servicing techniques required to diagnose and repair automotive computer system related concerns encountered on modern automobiles.

Learning Outcomes Describe the engine management system including inputs and outputs, analyze symptoms related to engine management components, perform pinpoint tests, analyze results, and determine necessary actions in accordance with ASE standards. Describe the purpose of scan tools and oscilloscopes in diagnosing engine management components and demonstrate proper procedure to navigate the scan tool and oscilloscope to obtain signal information in accordance with ASE standards. Access and utilize service information to perform a step-by-step diagnostic procedure. Demonstrate compliance with current automotive industry safety and environmental standards. Diagnose the cause of engine performance concerns related to engine management component failures in accordance with ASE standards. Describe OBDII monitors and perform a drive cycle used to verify repairs made to the engine management system in accordance with ASE standards.
